World Wide Web Concepts
Our web development curriculum gets students acclimated to development starting with the very basics and escalating to more complex studies. The world wide web is the way of the world. Our lives are now co-mingled with the web. Nearly everything you can do in person you can now do on the web. Our website development program prepares students for a career in Front-end web developments. Students will complete a series of courses in succession that prepares them for the workplace with skill levels escalating along with their ability to promote within their organizations.
Upon successful completion of the Web Development Track, students will have the confidence they need to create websites from scratch. While not necessary, it is recommended to take the courses in the order listed for the Web Technology track.
Website Development Track:
- Intro To WordPress
Prerequisites: none – This course teaches the basics of editing and managing a WordPress website. Learn how to create posts and pages, edit content, upload graphics and more. The student will feel comfortable in maintaining any WordPress website.
- Problem-Solving 101
Prerequisites: none – Students are presented with a business scenario of which they come up with the solution. They will learn how to do the necessary research and development to come up with the strategy to build a project that solves a specific business problem.
- HTML5 Foundations
Prerequisites: none – Learn everything you need to know to code web pages from scratch. Students will build their first website. Students build one complete HTML project. While there is no prerequisite for this course, the problem-solving course would be beneficial
- DW3 Principles: Design The World Wide Web
Prerequisites: HTML5 Foundations – In this course students learn how to use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to add style to web pages and design elements.
