Fast Track Video Series
Video is a great way to tell a story, document history or capture a moment. Everyone needs video at some point in life. The Dallas Technical Institute Video Series covers video from the very basics to using video professionally. Since each course builds upon the next, it is recommended students take all 4 courses one right after the other.
- Intro To Video: Let’s Play
Prerequisites: none – Learn to have fun while creating great video projects. Students learn basic video concepts: video terms, framing shots, setting up scenes and more. Any camera will do in this entry-level course. Students practice the art of video by shooting a series of small video clips.
- Pre-Production 101: The Art of Story
Prerequisites: Intro To Video – Students learn to come up with story ideas and write them out in preparation for shooting. Basic story-boarding concepts learned. Students will complete an entire plan for a video project they want to shoot.
- Production 101: Videography 101
Prerequisites: PreProduction 101 – You completed your story in the previous course. Now it’s time to pull out your camera and shoot! Students learn to shoot a video project from start to finish. Students also get a crash course in lighting and using a mic for a polished sound.
- Post Production 101: The EditRoom
Prerequisites: Production 101 – Once your video project scenes are shot, it’s time to put it all together by editing the scenes together in a logical fashion. Learn to include additional audio tracks, sound effects, titles and transitions to your video. Students end up with a complete project.
